Task:
Relaunch of the website of the University of Bremen and associated pages

Bremen University

The only state university in Bremen awarded the project to modernize the TYPO3 website in October 2016.

The client wanted a modern positioning of the university on the web, a transparent, responsive, animating and barrier-free presentation of the content as well as a functioning target group approach.

The more than 300 editors also wanted extensive flexibility in the creation of "their" pages.

A Participatory Approach Ensured the Success of the Relaunch

The implementation process was supported by everyone involved and led to success. A mixture of classic and agile project management in cooperation with the various decision-making groups at the university proved to be effective.

The portal is now fresh and modern. The new design follows a design line that is clear and yet clearly takes into account the desire for variety.

Implementation period

Jan. 70 - Jan. 70

Maintenance period

Since Jan. 70

Features:

  • Flexible design: 300 editors can design their pages individually - as part of the CD.
  • Consistent menu navigation: From the central start page to specific area pages, there is menu navigation that allows few but also many navigation points.
  • Integration: Existing interfaces are now also available in TYPO3 8 LTS.
  • Migration: News, forms, calendar data and emails - what was relevant in the "old" system is also available in the new system.
  • Load test before going live: 20,000 students, 2,300 scientists, 1,000 employees - all of them require high-performance access to the website.
